Downloading Airspace

Airspace data in JBalloonNav comes from OpenAIP, a community-maintained aviation database.

Setting Your Country

Before downloading, set your airspace country:

1. Tap ☰ Menu → Set Airspace Country
2. Select your country from the list

Downloading

1. Tap ☰ Menu → Download Airspace
2. The app downloads the airspace data for your selected country
3. A progress indicator shows the download status

Once downloaded, airspace boundaries appear as coloured overlays on the map.

Auto-Update

Enable Settings → Airspace → Auto Update on Startup to automatically check for updated airspace data each time you open the app. This helps ensure you have the latest airspace boundaries.

Airspace File Age

The app can warn you if your airspace data is old. Configure the warning threshold in Settings → Airspace.

Airspace data from OpenAIP is provided for reference only. Always verify airspace boundaries against current official charts before flying. OpenAIP data may not reflect the latest NOTAMs or temporary airspace restrictions.
